How to check a Dubai real estate broker licence

Updated 2026-10-17

Before you hand over a deposit or sign a Form A or B, take two minutes to confirm the person you are dealing with is a licensed broker attached to a licensed office.

1. Ask for the broker's BRN and card

Every licensed broker in Dubai has a Broker Registration Number (BRN) and a broker card issued under RERA, the Real Estate Regulatory Agency of the Dubai Land Department (DLD). A genuine broker will share both without hesitation. The BRN should also appear on their listings and business card.

2. Verify the card in the Dubai REST app

  1. Install the official Dubai REST app from DLD.
  2. Open Services and choose Licensed Real Estate Brokers.
  3. Find the broker (use the filter to search) and open their profile.
  4. Check the name, BRN, the office they are registered with and that the card is current. You can also download the broker card.

DLD also offers an e-card verification service in the app, where you choose the card type and enter the card number.

3. Check the agency, not just the person

A broker can only practise through a licensed real-estate office. Confirm that the office shown on the broker's profile matches the company named on your paperwork, and that the office itself is licensed. DLD's Verify License and Permits service covers licences and permits issued through its Trakheesi system.

4. Check the advert permit

Property adverts in Dubai need a permit issued through Trakheesi. A listing that shows a permit number or QR code can be checked with the same verification service.
